NORMAN, Okla. – Tournament officials today announced details surrounding the tournament’s newest event, the Compliance Solutions Championship Celebrity Shootout. The 2024 Shootout will feature golf’s greatest champion, Jack Nicklaus, alongside Oklahoman greats. The exhibition match will consist of two teams of Oklahoman celebrities with Nicklaus serving as the ultimate ace-in-the-hole, as each group will be given one Jack Nicklaus mulligan per hole. The World Golf Hall of Famer will also provide timely golf advice and tips, in addition to interacting with the crowds.
The marquee event will take place on Saturday, June 22 following play of round three of the Compliance Solutions Championship. The Celebrity Shootout will be contested over a multiple-hole team scramble, match-play format at Jimmie Austin Golf Club, all to benefit charity. Each team will represent one of the tournament’s two primary beneficiaries: AutismOklahoma and Folds of Honor.
“I want to thank Mark Lammert for inviting me to his event, and I look forward to being in Oklahoma in June,” Jack Nicklaus said. “The Korn Ferry Tour and events like the Compliance Solutions Championship are extremely important in providing touring professionals a stepping stone to the PGA TOUR. The game of golf is so deep with talent, and often it’s about just getting a chance. Having the ability to compete on a tour of this caliber is invaluable in the growth of hundreds of golfers. At the same time, to use this event and golf in general as a platform to help others is a side of the game we can’t talk enough about. I applaud Mark and his team for using this tournament to benefit Folds of Honor and AutismOklahoma. My wife Barbara and I have personally been involved with Folds of Honor for well over a decade, and we both have lent our support to autism efforts in our community. So, I thank Mark and the Compliance Solutions Championship for giving back to two great causes.”
“The state of Oklahoma has a strong golf community and fanbase and we are thrilled to be bringing golf legend – Mr. Nicklaus – to this year’s Compliance Solutions Championship,” Mark Lammert, CEO of Compliance Solutions, said. “We look forward to hosting golf fans from across the state of Oklahoma for what I know will be an exciting and memorable afternoon. We will be announcing more details about our celebrity roster as we get closer to the event.”
