NORMAN, Okla. – Compliance Solutions Championship officials announced today the lineup of Oklahoma legends for the tournament’s newest event, the Celebrity Shootout at Jimmie Austin Golf Club. This marquee competition at Jimmie Austin Golf Club will feature golf’s greatest champion Jack Nicklaus, alongside Oklahoma legends that include an Oklahoma State University team comprised of basketball’s Doug Gottlieb and Desmond Mason with baseball’s Robin Ventura and a University of Oklahoma team featuring football’s Dusty Dvoracek, Curtis Lofton and Teddy Lehman.

The Celebrity Shootout will take place on Saturday, June 22 following the final grouping of round three of the Compliance Solutions Championship and will be contested over a multiple-hole team scramble, match-play format all to benefit charity. Each team will represent one of the tournament’s two primary beneficiaries: AutismOklahoma and Folds of Honor.
OSU: Doug Gottlieb
Gottlieb is an American sports talk radio host and basketball analyst preceded by a career as both a collegiate and professional basketball player. After two years of collegiate basketball at Notre Dame and Golden West College respectively, Gottlieb transferred to Oklahoma State in 1997, leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament in his debut year as the starting point guard.
Gottlieb excelled in his two years at Oklahoma State, leading the NCAA in total assists in back-to-back seasons. Over that time, he broke the school career assists record and the school record for career double-figure assist games. Gottlieb ranks No. 10 all-time in NCAA career assists.
After college, Gottlieb was drafted into the United States Basketball League (USBL) in 2000. After multiple successful seasons in the USBL, he moved his basketball career overseas, playing professionally in France, Russia and Israel.
In 2002, Gottlieb took his talents to the broadcasting booth, which began on the Oklahoma City radio station WWLS 640 AM. He then spent time with ESPN and CBS as a host and analyst for collegiate basketball. Gottlieb now works as a radio host and analyst for Fox Sports.
OSU: Desmond Mason
Mason is an American painter and former professional basketball player. He spent 10 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), mainly with the Seattle SuperSonics and Milwaukee Bucks.
After four seasons with Oklahoma State (1996-2000), Mason was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics as the 17th pick of the 2000 NBA Draft. Mason became the first SuperSonics’ player to win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2001.
Starting in 2003, Mason spent the next six seasons playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings. He retired in 2009.
Outside of basketball, Mason creates art as an abstract expressionist, with examples of his work being displayed at museums and galleries. In 2004, he founded the Desmond Mason Art Show, which supports a variety of charity organizations.
Mason also works as a sports radio co-host and NBA analyst for an Oklahoma City sports talk station.
OSU: Robin Ventura
Ventura is a former professional baseball player and manager. In his 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), Ventura hit 18 grand slams, ranking No. 5 all-time. He is a two-time MLB All-Star selection and a six-time Rawlings Gold Glove winner.
After his playing career, Ventura spent five seasons (2012-16) as the manager for the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox won 375 games with Ventura at the helm, and he was a finalist for the American League Manager of the Year in 2012.
At Oklahoma State, Ventura was a three-time All-American and maintained a Division 1-record 58-game hitting streak as a sophomore in 1987. As a junior in 1988, Ventura played for the gold medal-winning Olympic baseball team and won the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award the same year. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2018 and was included in one of the first groups of inductees into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
Since his playing days, Ventura has provided color commentary for the College World Series and the Little League Southwest Region Finals, he has also appeared on ESPNU as an anchor.
OU: Dusty Dvoracek
Dvoracek is an American former professional football player who spent four seasons as a nose guard for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL) before transitioning to the United Football League (UFL).
Dvoracek played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma and was a consensus All-Big 12 performer in his 2003 and 2005 seasons. In 2006, Dvoracek was selected by the Bears in the third round of the NFL draft, and after four seasons (2006-09), was signed by the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL in 2010, where he spent two seasons before retiring in 2011.
Since retirement, he has worked as a color analyst for multiple channels, including ESPN, Fox Sports Oklahoma and SiriusXM. Dvoracek was a co-host for an Oklahoma City WWLS radio sports show until 2020.
OU: Curtis Lofton
Lofton is a former American football player for the National Football League (NFL), having spent eight years in the NFL as a linebacker.
Lofton played college football at the University of Oklahoma from 2005 to 2007. In his final Sooner season, he received first-team All-American honors from a multitude of press publications, including Sports Illustrated and The NFL Draft Report. He ranked third in the nation in total tackles, received All-Big 12 Conference recognition and was selected as the Associated Press Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
In 2008, Lofton was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the NFL Draft. He became a starter in his rookie season and spent four years with Atlanta. Throughout his eight-year career, Lofton also played for the New Orleans Saints (2012-14) and the Oakland Raiders (2015). He officially announced his retirement in 2017.
Lofton currently works as the Director of S.O.U.L Mission Life Skills and as NFL Liaison for the University of Oklahoma.
OU: Teddy Lehman
Lehman is an American former National Football League (NFL) linebacker. He spent seven seasons in the NFL, playing mainly for the Detroit Lions. Lehman also played three seasons with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League (UFL).
In 2000, Lehman began his college football career at the University of Oklahoma. In 2002, Lehman was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American.
His success continued into his final season as a Sooner, as he led the team in tackles and gained unanimous first-team All-American and first-team All-Big 12 honors. Deemed the nation’s top linebacker and defensive player, Lehman received the Dick Butkus and Chuck Bednarik Awards.
Lehman was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. In his debut season, he was the only rookie linebacker in the League to start all 16 games. After four seasons with the Lions, Lehman also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Since his retirement from football, Lehman hosts a local radio show called “The Rush,” on Sportstalk 1400AM. He also co-hosts an Oklahoma-focused podcast called “The Oklahoma Breakdown” and acts as the color analyst for the University of Oklahoma football games.
In additional news, the tournament has accepted the commitment of John Daly II, who is receiving a sponsor exemption to compete in the 2024 Compliance Solutions Championship. Daly is a red-shirt sophomore on the golf team at the University of Arkansas, the alma mater of his father and two-time major champion John Daly I. The duo took home a victory at the 2021 PNC Challenge and Daly II finished 3rd place in the Florida State Amateur in 2022. Daly II will be making his Korn Ferry Tour debut at the Compliance Solutions Championship.
